The Canon imageCLASS MF6550 combines versatility, reliability, and performance into one package with this all-in-one laser printer. This model offers high speed, high quality printing, scanning, copying, and faxing capabilities making the MF6550 a great addition to any office or workgroup environment.
Features and Functionality
The imageClass MF6550 has a print speed maximum rating of 23 pages per minute. This speed applies to this units copy speed as well. The MF6550 has a maximum resolution of 600 x 600 dpi, which is equivalent to 1200 x 600 dots per inch. This device can handle heavy volume printing and copying with a paper capacity of 600 pages and a monthly duty cycle of 15,000 pages. The MF6550 also has built in automatic duplexing capability that allows for double sided printing and copying. A 50 sheet ADF or automatic document feeder is also included with this printer.
This device has a built in 24-bit color scanner that can scan images at 600 x 600 dip max resolution. This produces a 9600 x 9600 dpi in enhanced mode. Document sizes up to legal (8.5″ x 14″) are supported as well as the following file output types: jpeg, tiff, pdf, bmp.
Connectivity of the Canon MF6550 is simple using the USB port on the printer. A third party network adapter or print server can be used to connect this printer to a network or workgroup.
The built in fax machine has all of the standard features you would expect from a fax machine in today’s world: 33.6 Kbps transmission speed, 256 pages of transmission memory, and 23 one touch speed dials.
The Canon MF6550 uses the Canon 106 toner cartridge. (type 106) This cartridge is rated at 5,000 pages. Owners of this model printer have the option to purchase and use compatible canon 106 cartridges in this printer. Doing so will allow them to reduce their overall cost of operation.
