I purchased the MFC 7440N to replace an older MFC. My priority was to be able to link it to my and share it while being able to print from my notebook, wireless. It set up easily and shares perfectly. It has performed well and does every task well, and fairly easily, except document scanning. The scanning function is not well explained in the manual and I have not found a concise explanation of how to use it in the documentation on the CD. I have not invested the time to work this out due to a lack of immediate need. I would rate it a total 5 star except for this factor. It is a wonderful buy for the price and I have had excellant performance from this company’s products. If anyone has the scanning thing worked out, I would appreciate your input.       The Pixma MP490 - if you are looking for an inexpensive, multi-purpose printer. Print quality is very acceptable scan resolution as well.
